This PEANUT BUTTER BANANA FRENCH TOAST is one of our favourite breakfast foods we grew up eating! Get the goodness of eggs, banana and a dollop of unsweetened peanut butter all in this one sumptuous toast. To make it irresistibly delicious, simply top it with berries and drizzle some maple syrup!
INGREDIENTS:
2 pieces whole wheat bread
1-2 tbsp peanut butter (or other nut butter)
1/2 banana
1 tbsp butter
1 egg
Splash of milk
Dash of cinnamon
Maple syrup
Chocolate Hazelnut Spread Drizzle (optional)
Berries or cashews for the topping (optional)
METHOD:
- Take 2 slices of bread and spread unsweetened peanut butter on both pieces of the bread. Sandwich banana slices between the breads.
- In a bowl, beat the egg. Add a splash of milk, dash of cinnamon and mix together. Pour egg mixture over the sandwich. Turn the sandwich over to get both sides covered with the egg mixture.
- Heat the butter in a frypan over medium heat. Place the sandwich and heat until golden brown. Flip and cook the other side. Remove from the pan and slice in half.
- Serve with maple syrup. Add berries or cashews on top and drizzle some chocolate hazelnut spread. Enjoy!
